November 15th Prayer Update
“He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.”
We were blessed with one of the most productive outreaches we've had in recent memory. Altogether, our teams talked with over 66 people, praying for them, sharing the gospel and distributing 32 Bibles. We are so thankful! Our continued hope is for those who received Bibles to read them and understand. For those who didn't have an interest in taking a Bible yet who received a blessing bag still received a gospel tract. We see tract distribution as scattering the seeds of the gospel to all we meet, regardless of their openness when we speak with them.
During our November 15th outreach, our teams distributed:
21 English Bibles
2 Spanish-language New Testaments
9 English New Testament
2 Cross-Talking Books
If you are considering a ministry to donate to for Giving Tuesday this year, please consider making a special one-time donation to Hope 680. We have a goal of raising $5,000 for our ongoing ministry expenses. We use the funds for needed supplies for distribution, RV maintenance and upkeep, and costs associated with our office location. We have a desire to see our ministry expand in 2026. A local business has offered a $2,000 matching gift once we reach that milestone! Please help us in that effort.
We are confident that one meal or one cup of coffee will be soon forgotten, but those touched with the beauty of the gospel of Jesus Christ will be changed for eternity.
We found Robert living in a car. Our central Concord team came upon a pretty sad situation. Robert's dog was in extremely bad shape. We were thankful that the Lord prepared us in advance by equipping our team with a medical supply bag and volunteers with medical training. We were able to offer Robert a pile of helpful medical supplies and a detailed list of instructions on how to help his dog recover from her injuries. Our practical care for Robert allowed for an extended 15-20 minute spiritual conversation. We prayed for Robert and his dog's recovery, and he thanked us for being there. We pray these opportunities allow for a softening of hearts towards the gospel message.
When our team approached Alecio, he complained of some severe stomach pain. Our team once again provided some basic medical supplies to help him. We also left him with additional water, which he started drinking right away. He told us that he is from Las Vegas and asked prayer for his family and for an opportunity to return there. We included the gospel message in our prayer for Alecio.
One of our regular outreach spots is the Concord library. There is a large group of homeless that hang out in and around that library. There are some we have had many gospel conversations with, with a wide range of interest. Please join us in praying for those who have started to "tune us out" that God would through our continued encounters soften their hearts to learn more about Him and His word. Pray in particular for Kareem, Roy, Pasha, Roger, Matt, Cathy, Sharon, Charles, Jeff.
Jesse's hands were shaking during our short conversation, and he seemed to be in pain. He accepted hot coffee, lunch, and a blessing bag. Our team was able to have a good conversation with Jesse focusing on forgiveness and the righteousness and holiness of God. We are hopeful that the illustration of the "earthly courtroom" left a lasting impression on Jesse as he considers his standing before the perfect Judge and seeks repentance and faith. Jesse asked for prayer for his wife, and we prayed a reiteration of the gospel message as well.
We met Petra at the trailer park in Antioch fairgrounds. She speaks Spanish, but our volunteer Liz was able to use Google Translate to communicate with her and found her to be a very sweet lady. She said she knows the Lord and would like prayer for her health. We are thankful for the owner of the fairgrounds who provides a safe place for many to live in RVs rather than in tents on the street. It has proven to be an excellent place for us to have Bible studies and long gospel conversations. We plan to return often.
