November 1st Prayer Update
“Give thanks to the God of heaven, for his steadfast love endures forever”
We are rapidly approaching our next outreach, but we wanted to make sure you had a few updates about our previous outreach. We want to pray for these folks that we will likely encounter again this coming Saturday. If you desire to join us this coming Saturday, be sure to sign up right away.
During our November 1st outreach, our teams distributed:
5 English New Testament Bibles

Don't forget that Hope for the Holidays is right around the corner!

Thank you for your ongoing support and prayers!
The Lord blessed our team with several more Spanish speakers during this outreach to have a more in-depth conversation with our friend Nacho (wearing the blue hoodie). He seems genuinely thankful for the interaction. Nacho clarified that he isn't unhoused; he lives with his mother and several siblings. He also mentioned feeling a lot of pressure to drink, both from his family at home and from some of the people he encounters at the park. This is particularly challenging for him because he suffers from epileptic seizures and is on medication, which means he absolutely cannot drink alcohol. He also expressed a real fear about leaving his usual comfort zones – his home and the park. He's genuinely worried about having a seizure in an unfamiliar place and people not knowing how to help him. He accepted a pair of reading glasses from us so he could better read his Spanish pocket New Testament. We would love to encourage him further to get plugged into a Spanish fellowship that also has some medical expertise and can assist him with his seizures.
Our Central Concord team met Sophenes in Baldwin Park. He told our team that he had been in California for less than a week. He called himself a follower of Jesus, so we discussed the gospel with him, but didn't get a story of what brought him to California and homelessness. The team offered him information on a local church that he could attend the next day. They also provided him with some food and hot coffee along with prayer.
Our team had the opportunity to check in again with Aliceo. We've connected with him for several months. He has been recovering from a hand injury, and we provide him with minor medical care each time we see him. He has expressed an interest in participating in an RV Bible study, but has been elusive when Garrett tries to arrange it. I'm hopeful that the care we've shown him will foster a desire to learn more about Christ.
