August 15th Prayer Update
“ If we have died with him, we will also live with him;
if we endure, we will also reign with him;
if we deny him, he also will deny us.”
We are thankful the Lord is leading us to people He has placed in our path, and for every conversation and opportunity to share the truth and hope of Christ. Please pray with us - that the Lord would continue to cultivate the seeds that were planted, soften hearts, and draw people to Himself and particularly for those struggling with addiction, fear and mistrust, that they are reminded there is hope and freedom in Christ. Please pray with us for lasting fruit and for many to come to a saving faith in Jesus and for the Lord to continue strengthening us. Above all, we ask His help that we remain faithful in sharing gospel truth, outreach after outreach. We praise the Lord for His faithfulness, and we give all the glory to Him!

Our north Concord team spoke with Angel, who claims to be a believer, but also knows her current life of drug use is not honoring to God. Angel shared that she and her fiancé are planning to detox together "again." As we shared the gospel, Angel cried throughout the conversation. She described herself as an "all or nothing" person and acknowledged the struggle between what she knows and how she is living. We prayed with Angel, that she would be "all in for Jesus." Angel said she'd be willing to attend church soon. May she follow through on that. Additionally, one of our team members arranged a time to bring Angel a new pair of shoes. Please pray that God would give Angel the resolve to turn from her old life, draw her into a relationship with Him that enables her to follow Him faithfully.
Our Martinez team had the opportunity to speak with Brian. Brian told us that after losing his job, he began a "faith walk" and has been praying regularly. Although he had very little Bible knowledge, nevertheless he says he knows that Jesus is the Son of God. We shared the gospel with him, and Brian said he had repented and expressed a desire to follow Jesus. We were able to provide Brian with food, clothing and a Bible, and we told him about the Bay Area Rescue Mission when he asked us where he might find shelter and a job. As we drove away, we saw Brian already reading his Bible - a wonderful encouragement! Please pray with us for God to continue drawing Brian to Himself and for growth in His Word. Please also pray that he connects with BARM, and that he may receive assistance with housing and a job search.
Our north Concord team had the opportunity to speak with Rose, who has a Catholic background and has never read through the entire Bible. We shared the gospel and discussed that salvation is through Christ alone, helping fill in some gaps in her understanding of the good news. Though she did not seem ready to repent, it's our prayer, the truth she heard will continue to work in her heart. Rose is currently homeless so she can remain near her boyfriend, who is currently in a nearby nursing home. Please pray for Rose, that God would soften her heart to the truth of the gospel and provide safe housing for her.
Our Livermore team reconnected with Sherri, whom we had spoken with previously. We were able to share the gospel more deeply and talk with her about her struggles with doubt and unbelief. Sherri wrestles with questions about sin, salvation, and whether God is truly real. Our team pointed her back to what Jesus has accomplished for us on the cross. Sherri accepted our invitation to attend church. We pray she will take that step toward Christian community and to continue seeking the truth; that the Lord would destroy the lies that cause her to doubt, soften her heart to His Word, and ultimately draw her to a saving faith in Jesus. Please also pray for housing and for her safety.
Our Vallejo team met a man in a wheelchair who was in very poor physical condition and extremely difficult to understand. His feet were severely swollen, so we gave him socks along with food, additional clothing and other supplies. He spent much of the time trying to put on the socks. We are unsure what he was struggling with, but he appeared to be dealing with significant physical and possibly mental health or substance-abuse related challenges. Please pray along with us, that the Lord would protect him, meet his needs, and bring the right people into his life to help him.
Our Livermore team had the opportunity to speak with Andrea, who has been homeless for 13 years. She listened attentively as we shared the gospel and walked through the Ten Commandments. Although she was unsure about believing in God, she was willing to talk. She accepted a Bible, and we suggested she begin reading the gospel of John. She declined to participate in prayer with us, but asked if we would pray for her and her children after we departed. Please pray that God would soften Andrea's heart, draw her to His Word, and open her eyes to the truth of the gospel. We hope to see her again and continue building a relationship with her.

We continue to pray for those who might be able to contribute a small additional monthly gift of $25 or $50 a month to help with ongoing Hope680 expenses, including our ministry supplies, offices, and RV maintenance. We are trusting God to continue to provide through you!
