October 17th Prayer Update
“Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.”
We thank the Lord for the opportunity to share the gospel and for all those who faithfully support our outreach through prayer, donations, supplies, and lunches. We are especially thankful for a record-breaking outreach this week! We handed out more Bibles than ever before, and we had a record number of teams (7) go out to share the gospel (including Livermore)! Please pray that the seeds of the gospel planted through conversations, Bibles and blessing bags would take root, drawing people to read God's Word, seek Him in prayer, and trust in His plan of salvation. We pray that each Bible handed out would be read and that God's Word would lead people to saving faith in Jesus Christ. Many we encountered are struggling with addiction, and we pray that the addiction resources shared would point them to the freedom and hope found only in Christ. We trust the Lord with the results and rejoice in every opportunity to share His truth.
We are praising God for your continued support and prayers for our ministry!
During our October 17th outreach, our teams distributed:
25 English language Bibles
4 Spanish language Bibles
9 English language New Testaments
0 Spanish language New Testaments
11 Cross-Talking (Addiction) books
Our central Concord team had the opportunity to speak with Jose. When we offered him a Bible, he stated that he already had one, but then was eager to receive a Spanish Bible from us! When asked about his favorite part of the Bible, he simply responded, "Jesus." Please pray with us that Jose would continue growing in his understanding of Christ and come to know Him more deeply through God's Word.
Our Antioch team spent 15-20 minutes sharing Scripture with Dewana, focusing on God as her Creator, His grace, and the salvation found through repentance and faith in Christ. She received a Bible and an addiction booklet, and we pray that the gospel seeds planted during this conversation will take root when she is sober. Please pray with us for her safety and protection on the streets, and that she would turn to the Lord for help, read His Word, and come to know the hope and freedom found in Jesus.
Our Vallejo team had a good conversation and prayer time with Bo. We prayed for his circumstances and struggles with addiction, while reinforcing the truth of the gospel. Bo seemed engaged in the conversation, with some understanding of biblical truth, but we pray that this knowledge would move to a genuine, heart-changing faith in Jesus Christ. Please pray with us that the Lord gives him freedom from addiction and draws him into a deeper, trusting relationship with Him.
Our Martinez team had the opportunity to meet CJ. He and his wife, Rhiannon, have been experiencing homelessness for over a year. During our lengthy conversation, CJ was resistant to the gospel and reasoned against much of what was shared, but we pray that seeds of truth were planted in his heart. Please pray with us that the Lord would soften his heart toward Christ, provide protection, stable housing, and employment. May the Lord draw both CJ and Rhiannon to Himself and lead them to the hope and salvation found only in Jesus.
Our Pleasant Hill team had the opportunity to meet Trey. He eagerly accepted a Bible from us and began reading it immediately. Trey had questions about the biblical canon but remained engaged and continued reading his new Bible as we left. We were so encouraged with his eagerness to dive into God's Word. Please pray with us that his desire to read Scripture would continue to grow, that the Holy Spirit would guide his understanding, and that God's Word would challenge his heart and lead him to recognize his need for a Savior and put his faith in Jesus Christ.
Our north Concord team had the opportunity to meet Stephanie (not shown). She admitted to not spending much time in God's Word, so we encouraged her to make time in God's Word and to prioritize her personal time with the Lord amid life's many responsibilities. We provided her with an addition booklet and obtained her contact information to reconnect for a future Bible study. Please pray with us that the Lord gives her wisdom as she prepares for her significant other's release from jail and seeks stable housing with family. Pray that she would recognize the hope and freedom found in Christ, rather than seeking escape through addiction, and that the Lord would draw her into a deeper relationship with Him.
