May 2nd Prayer Update

“...Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you...”
— Psalm 50:15

We are grateful to the Lord for providing the opportunity for us to spread gospel seeds. Thank you for your diligent prayers for our ministry! We trust the results to God and simply seek to be faithful. Please continue to pray with us for those mentioned in this report, that the Lord would stir their hearts with a desire to follow Him in repentance and faith.

During our May 2nd outreach, our teams distributed:

  •  16 English language Bibles

  •  4 Spanish language New Testaments

  •  10 English language New Testaments

  •  6 Cross-Talking (Addiction) Books

Save the Date!
Our Hope 680 Walkathon is scheduled for
Saturday, September 12th at the Lafayette Reservoir!

Our Vallejo team had the opportunity to share the gospel with Melissa. She had been wearing very little, so the team provided her with fresh clothing, and one of our volunteers gave her the sweatshirt that he had been wearing. Melissa said she struggles with drug addiction, and she really wants her children back in her life. She added that her friend, Rosa, had stepped on a nail and injured her foot, so the team provided medical supplies for Rosa. As part of our time together, we prayed with her. Please pray with us for Melissa's drug addiction struggles, for reunification with her children, and for her salvation. Please also pray for healing and salvation for Rosa.

Our central Concord team had the opportunity to speak with Matt again (not shown). In our last prayer update, we asked for prayer that Matt would be open to participating in a future Bible study with us; and praise the Lord, he told us today that he is willing to participate during our next outreach! We have known Matt for a couple of years, and have been increasingly encouraged by the progress we've seen in our interactions with him. We believe the Lord has used these interactions to soften Matt's heart toward the gospel, and we would really like to dive deeper into God's word with him. Please pray with us that this Bible Study with Matt occurs during our next outreach!

Our north Concord team had the opportunity to speak with Kelly and Matt. Kelly is a believer in Christ and wanted the team to pray for Matt's health. Matt suffered a traumatic injury awhile back, and still has large lacerations with deep tissue exposure on his stomach area. Matt is not a believer, but was open to praying with us. Please pray for Matt's salvation, and for healing for his wounds.

Our Martinez team had the opportunity to speak with Kevin (shown) and Frankie. Kevin was not very coherent but said he has been living on the streets for 45 years, and cannot imagine not being on the streets. Kevin requested the team to read him a devotion from Our Daily Bread, but then repeatedly interrupted while they were trying to share the gospel with him. Kevin refused prayer and would not accept any Bible or resources that were offered. Frankie explained that he found himself homeless after having problems with a past girlfriend. The team prayed with Frankie and provided him with a copy of Our Daily Bread. Please pray with us that the Lord would soften Kevin's heart to future gospel conversations. Please also pray that Frankie would have the desire to follow Christ, and the conviction that leads him to read his devotional.

Our Antioch team had the opportunity to speak with Chris, Bianca, Esteban and Danny. We had a good conversation with Chris and Esteban, and we were able to share the gospel with them. Chris and Esteban could articulate that they knew they shouldn't be making certain life choices, including the use of drugs. Chris recognizes that drug use has negatively affected her mental health and is requesting prayer. We pray that their conviction leads them to desire help for their addiction struggles, for their mental health and most importantly a desire to follow Him.

Our Antioch team had the opportunity to speak with Sara. Sara has participated in a Bible study with us in the past. We had a good conversation with her, and she opened up a lot about her life. Sara believes there must be a higher power, because she had thought of ending her life on numerous occasions and had been stopped each time. Our team was able to share with her that no matter how bad things are in life, Jesus is our sure hope, and that He is waiting for her to trust and let Him guide her through her hard times. We were able to share the gospel with her, and repeatedly pointed her to Christ. Please pray with us that she would desire to participate in more Bible study sessions with us, that we are able to reconnect with her, and that she finds comfort and hope in our Savior.

We have an urgent prayer request for the individuals residing on the Contra Costa Fairgrounds property at Base Camp Housing. They have lived here for 2-3 years in RVs, followed all rules, kept the property clean, have running water, electricity and showers. Unfortunately, the owner of the fairgrounds no longer wishes to continue to rent the property to them, and as a result, numerous families are being evicted.

Please pray for this immediate need, as they need to relocate quickly. Pray for the Lord to give all of these families guidance and wisdom during their relocation process. We also pray that we are able to reconnect with these families after they relocate.
