June 20th Prayer Update
“If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ”
During this last outreach, we received feedback on the positive effects our ministry has on the lives of some of the people we encounter. Praise the Lord! God is so kind to use us to share the gospel with the homeless in our area! It is encouraging to serve with one another, and we are grateful for the fellowship we have in this ministry.
Please pray with us for the Lord to continue to give us wisdom and boldness in sharing the gospel and pointing people toward Him. Please pray specifically for those mentioned in this report, that the Lord would stir their hearts with a desire to follow Him in repentance and faith. Please also pray that our ministry RV would be fully repaired and returned to us before our July 4th outreach, as it as been in the shop.

Our Antioch team engaged in deep conversation with Greg (shown). Greg said he is a believer in Christ, and had some deep questions about God. Greg struggles with drug and alcohol addiction, but said he was not willing to give up his drug and alcohol use. This is not atypical for many we encounter. We shared the gospel with him, provided him with a Bible and an addiction booklet. Greg was very receptive to everything that was presented to him. Please pray with us that Greg would read the Bible and addiction booklet that we gave to him, and that he would turn to Christ in repentance and faith.
Our north Concord team had the opportunity to speak with Niccol (shown). Niccol has health problems and has previously had heart surgery. Niccol seemed to be fairly familiar with the Bible, but was stuck on one particular issue. Niccol believes that if you 'accept Christ, then you become perfect and never sin again.' We were able to read 1 John 1:8-9 with her, and explained that although Christ frees us from the bondage of sin, we are sinners saved by grace and we still need to turn to Christ in repentance and faith. Please pray with us that Niccol would read the Bible we gave to her, and that the Lord would open her eyes to the truth of repentance and faith.
Our Antioch team had the opportunity to speak with Frank. Frank said he generally tries to 'do good things.' We shared the gospel, read a Bible passage with him and explained that doing good works is not sufficient for salvation. Frank was very receptive and showed great concern for his girlfriend, Jenna, to get clean from drug addiction. While describing his own challenges, he repeatedly mentioned he was relying on his own strength to help Jenna. We encouraged him to put his trust in Christ, turn to Him in faith and repentance, and He will give us strength. Please pray with us that the Lord would open Frank's eyes to the truth of the gospel, for God to give him comfort and encouragement, and that Frank would ultimately submit to Christ and depend on Him for strength.
Our north Concord team had the opportunity to speak with numerous people near the freeway. We were really encouraged when several of them asked for copies of Our Daily Bread devotionals, as they regularly read them! Our conversation with Terrance was fruitful. He said he is a Christian and regularly reads the devotionals. We gave him a Bible and provided him information for the Bay Area Rescue Mission; however, he has a dog and that is always a hurdle when trying to receive resources and support. Please pray with us that Terrance would receive housing assistance. We also pray that the rest of this group would continue to read through the devotionals given to them, and that the Lord would give them saving faith.
Our central Concord team engaged in an emotional conversation with Jen. We shared the gospel with her, and Jen admitted that she knows she is a sinner and she would be going to hell if she didn't turn to Christ in repentance and faith. While praying for her, Jen and our team members became emotional and cried. Jen explained that she didn't want to commit to repenting quite yet. Nevertheless, we encouraged her to reach out to the Lord in prayer. Please pray with us that the Lord would soften her heart, give her saving faith and that Jen would turn to Christ in repentance and faith.
Our Vallejo team had the opportunity to speak with Desmond again. We are thankful for opportunities we've had to share the gospel with him on numerous occasions. Desmond enjoys knowing that he is trying to 'do good things,' but added that it is a struggle, as he is surrounded by people constantly encouraging him to do 'bad things.' He has lost touch with family and is seeking to restore those relationships. We encouraged Desmond to turn to Christ in faith and repentance, as our good works are not sufficient for salvation. Please pray with us that Desmond turns to the Lord in repentance and faith, and for him to seek sufficiency in Christ.
